Why Bend guests love staying with TurnKey...

"This is a lovely place with a very rustic cabin vibe for our winter trip. Close to mt Bachelor and downtown Bend, OR. Our large group had a great time and there was never a dull moment or lack of activities. The only issues we came across were a broken washing machine, expired park passes to the Sunriver resort pool (but the pool was gracious enough to let us in anyway), and a noise complaint from the neighbors. It didn’t seem as though we were terribly loud (2 sleeping infants in the home), but I guess sound carries quite a bit through the large windows. Something to be mindful of it you stay, but certainly not a deal breaker. The rental company TurnKey was professional in handling this and very responsive with any issues. We loved this place! I will definitely consider renting in the future."..."

How to pick the perfect vacation rental in Bend, OR

Bend, Oregon offers a wide range of activities for visitors, from challenging ski slopes and multi-day kayaking trips to leisurely brewery tours. In fact, the city has earned a reputation as a craft beer hub in Oregon, which culminates in the annual three-day Bend Brewfest. Most of these activities are relatively close to one another, so you can easily try them all (though you shouldn’t drink too much the night before you hit the Deschutes River for a kayaking trip).

Follow these tips to help you pick the perfect Bend vacation rental for your travel plans.

  • Where to stay for the Bend Brewfest:If you love craft beer, you’ve come to the right place. The Bend Brewfest is a three-day festival held every August in the Old Mill District’s Les Schwab Amphitheater. More than 200 rare beers from various nano-breweries make an appearance at the Bend Brewfest, along with ciders and wine. Book a vacation rental in the Old Mill District, walking distance from the festival, and fill your glass to your heart’s content.
  • Where to stay to go kayaking and canoeing:Tumalo Creek Kayak & Canoe offers a variety of classes and guided tours for all skill levels. Beginners can try the Deschutes Fall Foliage Tour, which runs every Tuesday and Friday during the fall from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Seasoned kayakers can embark on the San Juan Kayaking Tour, a four-day trek with sea lion sighting by day and gourmet campfire meals by night. Book a vacation rental in the Old Mill District and get your kayaking or canoeing adventures started along the Deschutes River.
  • Where to stay to go skiing:Bend is home to Mt. Bachelor Ski Resort, the sixth-largest ski resort in the United States. Nestled in the Deschutes National Forest roughly 30 minutes west of downtown Bend, Mt. Bachelor has the standard skiing and snowboarding slopes, along with snow tubing, dog sledding, and a mountain bike park. Book a cozy winter condo near the Mt. Bachelor Ski Resort, and after you conquer “The Mountain,” take a lift ride to Pine Marten Lodge to enjoy dinner with a scenic view of the forest.
  • Where to stay to embark on the Bend Ale Trail:Bend has more breweries per capita than any other city in Oregon and has earned the nickname “Beer Town USA.” There’s no better way to sample these sips than on the Bend Ale Trail, a guided beer tour that stops at the town’s finest breweries. Each person is given a passport to get stamped at each brewery, and anybody who earns 10 or more stamps gets a prize at the end of the tour. The Bend Ale Trail mostly takes place downtown, so book a vacation rental near the Old Mill District to get started. While the whole thing is certainly walkable, participants can also conquer the trail by bike, bus, trolly, or horseback.
  • How to choose your Bend rental experience:If you’re set on exploring Bend’s robust craft beer scene, it’s safe to say you’ll want to find a condo or house within walking distance of the breweries in the Old Mill District. The same location also offers easy access to the Deschutes River, which hosts a variety of aquatic excursions. Avid skiers, however, should venture westward into the Deschutes National Forest and rent a cabin near the Mt. Bachelor Ski Resort, where they’ll find endless thrills on the slopes.
