Why Vail Valley guests love staying with TurnKey...

"This unit is exactly as seen online. It is definitely compact but makes good use of the small space. The property was clean and everything worked. Large TV with Netflix and a good speaker were good amenities. Good property for two people who each want their own bedroom but don't mind sharing a bathroom! We enjoyed skiing in Vail for a full week and made use of the free shuttle. Keep in mind the shuttle stop is more like 5 minutes away, not 3."..."

Brand-New Unit: Walk to Cascade Lift, Near Bus
"The place is nicely updated and the location really is not a bad walk from the free bus. The bus ride to Vail was prob about 30 min with all the stops. We arrived at night and had a bit of trouble finding the unit- the lighting wasn’t great to find signs and the signs on the buildings weren’t obvious. This unit was up a few flights of stairs which wasn’t great with luggage, there was no elevator. There were a few things we noticed right away. We wanted to make dinner as it was about 7:30 pm. The description said gas grill, and it had one but no propane! The TV remote had no batteries,, towels were stilll in dryer and sheets on washer from the turnover. I called the property manager and of course nothing could be done till the next day. All was taken care of by the time we returned from skiing the next day. The rest of the weekend went well. ! Everyone was comfortable in their beds!"..."

How to select the perfect vacation rental in Vail

Located in the heart of the Colorado Rockies, Vail is one of the most popular ski destinations in the country. It was home to America’s first gondola and has maintained its dominance as a ski and snowboard getaway, attracting major events such as the GoPro Mountain Games and the Burton U.S. Open.

But fun in Vail goes far beyond the slopes! Come summer, the pedestrian-friendly town offers top-notch classic music with the Bravo! Music Festival, not to mention hair-raising outdoor experiences with Vail Ski Resort’s warm-weather adventure park.

Whether you’re plotting out your winter runs or ready for a relaxing scenic getaway in the mountains, here are seven tips for selecting the perfect Vail vacation rental:

  1. Where to stay for the GoPro Mountain Games: The country’s largest celebration of adventure sports, art, and music brings thousands to the streets of Vail for an epic weekend of fun. Whether you’re in town to watch—or participate—in events such as rafting, climbing, yoga, or kayaking, you’ll want to rent a vacation house near the Vail Village neighborhood. The Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater, which houses the event’s three nights of free concerts, is just 15 minutes walking from Vail Village.
  2. Where to stay for skiing and snowboarding in Vail: With 5,300 acres of skiable terrain—not to mention 200 runs—Vail Ski Resort is the best spot for skiing and snowboarding in the city. If you’re planning a ski weekend getaway, rent a home in the Lionshead neighborhood for quick access to Vail Ski Resort. Many homes in this area include hot tubs for rest and relaxation after an epic day on the slopes.
  3. Where to stay for the Bravo! Music Festival in Vail: The Bravo! Music Festival fills the streets of Vail with world-renowned classical music every summer. Performances include the New York Philharmonic and the Academy of St. Martin in the Fields, as well as a variety of smaller performances and a free concert series. Stay close to the action with a vacation rental home near Vail Village; this neighborhood is walking distance to the Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater, where the most notable performances take place.
  4. Where to stay for the Burton U.S. Open: Every February, the best of the best in snowboarding head to Vail for the Burton U.S. Open Snowboarding Championships. The five-day event, which takes place late February through early March, includes three competition categories: slopestyle, halfpipe, and entertainment riders. If you’re heading to Vail for the Burton U.S. Open, rent a vacation home in the Lionshead neighborhood for close proximity to the event festivities at Vail Ski Resort.
  5. Where to stay for hiking and adventure in Vail: While Vail’s best known for its slopes, the city has a variety of hiking and outdoor adventure options for year-round visitors. For a strenuous hike with waterfall views, rent a home in the Booth Falls neighborhood for access to the Booth Falls trail. For summer adventures, rent a home in the Lionshead neighborhood. The nearby Vail Ski Resort transforms into an adventure park during the warmer months, with ziplines, a climbing wall, and adventure courses.
  6. Where to stay for a fly fishing weekend in Vail: With the opportunity to land all four of Colorado’s trout species, Gore Creek—a Gold Medal Stream—is Vail’s best spot for fly fishing. If you’re visiting the area for fly fishing, stay in West Vail for close proximity to the creek. If you’d prefer to fish with a guide, check out Gore Creek Fly Fisherman. This outfitter, located in Lionshead, has been a staple in Vail’s fishing industry for over 30 years.
  7. How to pick your perfect Vail vacation rental experience: Vail is a welcoming mountain town with car-free streets and Rocky Mountain views at every corner; the local rental homes and condos reflect its charming, cozy character. From luxurious cabins with hot tubs and fireplaces to rustic condos within walking distance of the slopes, Vail has a variety of rental options to make your trip complete.
