Why Steamboat Springs guests love staying with TurnKey...

"This property at Storm is very nice. Modern and cozy. We would stay again, but we like trying new things each time we go. Parking for one vehicle right out side door. Free parking lot and two lots that cost around $20-$30 per day adjacent to Gondola square for when we went skiing. We could have walked from residence to square, but didn't feel like it. We place we rented ski equipment from in Gondola square stored our equipment and dried it after we skied each day and the next morning we would walk in and boot up and walk out to the lifts from their. Super easy."..."

How to pick the perfect vacation rental in Steamboat Springs

Visitors from all over the world flock to Steamboat Springs, Colorado during wintertime to ski at the Steamboat Ski Resort. But this Rocky Mountain destination has something to offer year-round. It’s home to the Yampa river, where locals enjoy a number of water sports, as well as two steamy hot springs to visit no matter the weather. Steamboat Springs might be a small town, but it’s a tight-knit community with events year round; from its Winter Carnival in the winter to its Yampa River Festival in the summer.

Follow these tips to help you pick the perfect Steamboat Springs vacation rental for your travel plans.

  1. Where to stay to go skiing.Steamboat Springs is best known for its world class skiing and ski competitions. For the best skiing opportunities, stay near the Steamboat Ski Resort on the east side of town, which has lifts into the ski area surrounding Mount Werner.
  2. Where to stay to enjoy water sports. For folks looking to enjoy water-related activities such as fishing, rafting, tubing, and kayaking, stay near the Yampa river on the west side of town. The 4 mile-long whitewater river runs through town and ends with two surfable waterholes. The city hosts its annual Yampa River Festival in this area, as well.
  3. Where to stay near the hot springs. No trip to Steamboat Springs is complete without a dip into the town’s historic hot springs. Folks visit the hot springs for both entire afternoons of fun or for a quick dip to soak sore legs after a day of vigorous outdoor activities. Steamboat Springs has two hot springs; Old Town Hot Springs is in the heart of downtown Steamboat, on Third Street and Lincoln Avenue, while Strawberry Park Hot Springs is a 15 minute drive to the edge of the Yampa Valley.
  4. Where to stay for the Winter Carnival. In February, Steamboat Springs celebrates its western heritage and helps locals cope with wintertime cabin fever with a Winter Carnival. The event, which features a parade, fireworks, and a variety of sports activities, mostly takes place in downtown Steamboat Springs along Fifth Street.
  5. How to choose your own Steamboat Springs rental experience.Stay on the east side of Steamboat Springs for quick access to both hiking and skiing trails near Mount Werner and Fish Creek Falls. Go east and south to follow the Yampa river if you plan to partake in a lot of water sports, or stay in the north part of the city to be close to its bustling downtown area.
